Do you know who Herbert Carnegie is?

I am sure that all in Toronto have at one time or another player or watched hockey at Herbert Carnegie (North York) Cennennial. Well many of you probable don’t know who Herbert Carnegie (better know as Herb Carnegie) is.  Herb was the first African-Canadian to play hockey in the NHL. In 1956, he wrote the “Future Aces Creed” in an attempt to foster respect, cooperation, self-esteem and self-confidence among young people.

Herb Carnegie is a perfect example of overcoming oppression and serves as an inspiration for all players.
