GTHL COMMUNICATION ON TORONTO MARLBOROS/TIE
DOMI SITUATION

TORONTO (Wednesday, April 4, 2007) – The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) is issuing this
information bulletin to clarify the position of the GTHL in relation to the on-going media reports relating
to the process for dealing with the incident that occurred on March 30, 2007.

On Friday, March 30, 2007 at approximately 8:30 p.m. at Herbert Carnegie Centennial Centre, following
the Minor PeeWee “AAA” game between the Toronto Marlboros and the Toronto Red Wings, Mr. Tie
Domi, a parent of a player on the Toronto Marlboros team, confronted Lucas Miller, the head coach of the
Toronto Marlboros team, allegedly using foul and profane language.

On Monday April 2, 2007 at approximately 12:00 noon, a written complaint was received by the GTHL
office from Mr. Miller outlining his version of what had occurred at the conclusion of the game.

On Monday April 2, 2007 at approximately 1:20 pm the GTHL office sent an e-mail to the Toronto
Marlboros Hockey Club enquiring as to whether they would be handling the matter internally, as per their
Club’s Policy on Parent Behaviour. This enquiry was made in light of the fact that this incident involved a
coach of the Toronto Marlboros Hockey Club and a parent of a player on the same Club

On Monday April 2, 2007 at approximately 10:40 pm, Toronto Marlboros General Manager Michael
Chraba confirmed in an e-mail to the GTHL that the Toronto Marlboros would be handling the matter
internally as per their Club’s Policy. It was at this point that GTHL President John Gardner said the
matter was in the hands of the Club.

In the evening of Tuesday April 3, 2007 a meeting occurred with representatives from the Toronto
Marlboros Hockey Club and staff of the GTHL. The Toronto Marlboros expressed concern that, since the
season had ended, they would be unable to deal with the matter under their internal Club Policy in any
effective way. The Toronto Marlboros therefore decided that they would submit to the GTHL a written
request that it take jurisdiction over the matter.

On Wednesday April 4, 2007 a submission was received from the Toronto Marlboros by the GTHL
Office. This submission will now be considered by the GTHL.

Given that the matter is currently under review by the GTHL, no further comment or statement will be
issued until a decision is rendered. This review is expected to finalized by April 18, 2007.
