A racial slur!

Hockey Canada president Bob Nicholson, chairman Rene Marcil and senior director Brad Pascall have been called to appear before a the Official Languages Committee. They are being asked to discuss the merits of the decision to bestow the captaincy on Shane Doan. Shane Doan was accused of making a racial slur directed toward officials in a game between the Phoenix Coyotes and the Montreal Canadians. His comment was “Four French referees in Montreal, Cuje, figure it out.” the linesmen claims that he heard “F-g Frenchman – did a good job,”. Shane Doan has been cleared of all accusations by the National Hockey League. In fact, Senior Vice President, Colin Campbell insists that the whole incident is “ridiculous”. Even fellow Liberal MP and former NHLer Ken Dryden questions the Canadian Government’s right to discuss reasons for selecting players to the Canadian national hockey team.
