Ryan O’Reilly goes Number for OHL Priority Selection!


The Erie Otters have selected Ryan O’Reilly to be there number one selection in the 2007 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. He played for the Minor Midget AAA Toronto Jr. Canadians and the Tier II Junior A Toronto Jr. Canadians. According to the Canadian Hockey News poll readers thought that Ethan Werek was going to go first overall. However O’Reilly was a close second with 19% of the votes, while Ethan Werek has 29%.

Some sources reported that Erie was going to try an get Cam Fowler the power defenceman from the Detroit Honeybaked, however he has already committed to Notre Dame in the NCAA. Additionally there was rumour that John McFarland was going to attempt to gain exceptional player status, however his request was denied. Nevertheless Ryan O’Reilly is a incredibly talented player who will be a star in the Ontario Hockey League. In being selected Ryan O’Reilly wins the Jack Ferguson Award.
